  1. A friend who tested this program asked me to provide some justification for 
  2. this program. So here we go...
  3.   The Black Widowers' catchphrase: 'Justify your existence.', recently used
  4. in Red Dwarf by an Inquisitor like Rick Priestly never dreamed of (what
  5. happened to Ian Watson's 'Inquisition War' series?), is not a pleasant
  6. demand. Especially if you're a sub-12k BASIC program. But you have to submit
  7. to the grilling, yes? So... 
  8. -JUSTIFY YOURSELF.  
  9. -Well, I can do lots of things. I can display text files in windows, I can
  10. display sprite and draw files in windows, and I can run other programs. All
  11. from within a really nice window with sprites in.
  12. -BUT ISN'T IT THE CASE THAT YOU DON'T DO IT VERY WELL?
  13. -I wouldn't say...
  14. -IS IT NOT TRUE THAT YOUR TEXT DISPLAYING ROUTINES ARE RUDIMENTARY TO SAY THE
  15. LEAST?
  16. -Well...
  17. -AND THAT YOU DON'T KNOW HOW BIG YOUR DRAWFILES ARE?
  18. -Oh...
  19. -AND THAT 256 COLOUR SPRITES ARE DECIDEDLY *DODGY*?
  20. -I wouldn't...
  21. -AND, TO CAP IT ALL, YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING BETTER THAN RISC-OS CAN!
  22. -Oh, but who could?
  23. -FLATTERY WILL GET YOU NOWHERE. YOU ARE ACCUSED OF BEING SUPERFLUOUS. HOW DO
  24. YOU PLEAD?
  25. -Not guilty. I can help by having meaningful icons which launch various
  26. media. I promise to get better!
  27. -HMMM. ALRIGHT THEN.
  28. -That's it? No impressive speech?
  29. -NO <bell> I've just gone off duty.

  31.   Seriously though, it's not /that/ bad, it will get better, and I did write
  32. it on the beach.

  38.   cannot save data: my message_DATASAVE causes address exceptions & other
  39.   really bad stuff.

  42. Å anyone interested in writing or drawing graphic adventures, like Monkey
  43.   Island/Day of the Tentacle.
